Boring out 1.3 to 1.6?

Can I bore out my 85 Sierra from 1.3 litres to 1.6? I have been looking at Vitara transplants but the cost of them from the wreckers has got me thinking about alternatives. I have seen 1.3 litre rebuild kits for $550. I am assuming it would not be much more for larger pistons. I bore out my 1.3 to 1.6 then put on a rebuilt MPI Vitara head. That way I have a known quantity rather than a wreckers gamble?
Also I move around Aus for work, about 2 years in each state. If I kept the same block that would avoid mod plate/ insurance hassles in each state.

On a search I found this '
I belive that Suziworx or similar sell a 1500cc Kit for the 1300 motor, as far as I am aware there is no way of making a 1.3 a 1.6 without spending mega$$ (would be WAY cheaper to install and enginer a 1.6)'
Can I fit a MPI head?

From what I have heard the 1.5 kit is a pretty good way to go, and yes you can install a and EFI head on the 1.3 block
(if your going a 16valve head make sure you use pistons designed for it in your rebuild, they willl have 4 small reliefs cut into the piston crown to keep the motor a non interfearance design)

The Engines are different so no on 1.6.. If You bore it out to 78mm (4mm) you still only get 1442cc with a g13ba crank. A lot of suzuki swifters have tried this an most people say that not all the blocks can go that far anyway. If you tried a 1 mm oversized vitara piston (76mm) it probably a lot safer with 1369cc (better than 1298cc huh?)
Now i think the g13a crank is a bigger stroke (at work got to go home for the figures here.. guessing 77mm) so with 76mm you get 1397cc making it 1.4l
Sounds little but there is probably some hp/torque just there
-With a stock head you probably be upping the compression
-Still stay with a carby.
Got some other ideas but lunch break is over post later
