Extended breathers.

I"ve extended my breathers into top of
engine bay and am wondering if conecting it
to the air cleaner will cause prob's.
i.e vacum etc.

Yep cheap fuel filter does the trick.

I know a guy that does work on Bank ATM's, He gave a few of the small air filters from a ATM...just look like a Z15 fuel filter ....just about 1/2 the size...give or take
....work very well to.

If its the spring loaded Toyota one youve wasted your effirt. They stay shut under vac and allow water in thru the seal.
Just use a small petrol filter.
2nd hand (old) work better as the oily film makes them a bit more waterproof.

Not quite true, as he has moved this up into the engine bay, where is is not likely to be submerged in water as it would be on the diff housing.
Although, it is beneficial to replace them with a small fuel type filter, but not necessary... My hoses just go up into the engine bay, no filters at all... That's how i bought it.. I mite fit a filter in the future though.

The flap closes on the end cap even up in the engine bay when for example diff, is submerged and cools down thereby reducing pressure in diff (vac)
. Air (water) is then pulled thru the pinion and bearing seals

Ahhh, so the factory ones are only good for the pressure in the diff increasing, and releiving the excess... not the other way like when you hit a section of water and the oil cools down? Makes sense.. sorry baz
