Outer Limits 4x4 Board

anyone got or know where i can find rear bar/wheel carrier pics of 75 troopy by any chance (mainly interested in the rear bar side of it)
startin to get the chits on with the bumperettes not bein real 4x4 friendly

i don't have any pics of my rear end specifically which is lucky for you!!!

have a look at my thread in the toyota or members section. I have a strongarm brand dual carrier, which essentially is the same shape as a standard bumper (ie wraparound), but is made of steel. It's quite strong and i have sat the full weight of the car on it several times. the only draw back is that sometimes when leaning against a tree or wall the bumpersides will mark the paintwork.

That's my troopy, it's a 78 series ( has 75 tail lights ).
I just welded a chuck of 100 x 100 3mm wall steel to the back of the towbar, then had the lot powdercoated and then screwed a bit of alloy floor plate on the top, It'll be easy to weld a wheel carrier on, I'll do that eventually but the wheel is on the door for now.

Hey Stu, do you have any other pics i could have a peek at? I'm making something similar out of 50x100, with tapered ends, but i'm worried it's going to look silly. But looking at yours i think it'll turn out looking good!

Also wondering if anyone has done a quarter chop on a troopy, with a bar that wraps around? My quarters are full of bog, and i think if the bar was made well (to follow the lines of the body) it could look quite good - even extending as far as the wheelarch (ala kaymar for 100-series)

I used the 100 x 100 because I ripped the fatory bumper off in the bush, and I had enough steel left over from my carport posts. It was about $100 for the powdercoat job and the alloy plate, pretty cheap. The high-lift goes under it perfectly, piss easy if you have a towbar on.

I'm also interested in making up ar rear bar and chopping my rear quarters (rust in the LH one) on my 70 series swb.
I also have a 2" body lift.. so would need to make a bar that matches..

has anyone incorporated a towbar into their rear bar..rather than having a hayman reece bolted up underneath?

anybody got any more ideas/pics?
