I am looking for a steering wheel for my 91 GQ Patrol, mine is sun damaged and I am having a bit of trouble finding a good one, I don't really want to put a Sports wheel on it as everything else is in good condition, can anyone help me.

similar age nissan pulsar steering wheels bolt straight on, they're smaller so it makes it less truck like than the standard ones.

If it is a leather one I just had mine recovered for $60.00.

Agreed, I just swapped the tiny sports wheel that my 89 GQ came with for a ~91 Pulsar wheel. It's a bit thin if you have fat hands like me but I can finally see the speedo properly. Oh and it looks great, if you're a big fan of grey...

I got a SSS pulsar wheel for mine think it was $70 from the wreckers. Looks better than most of the aftermarket wheels, which I also think are to small. And since it is a SSS wheel, it makes it go faster. Now have it on my 91SWB.

Funny thing happened to me on the weekend.
My steering wheel came loose and the steering wheel would turn but the wheels wouldnt. I was stuck in a bog hole as well. Lucky I had a socket set in the car or I would have had to walk home 100kms at midnight.
It turns out there is only a few mm of contact between the boss kit and steering shaft.
Is there more contact with the pulsar wheel?

The pulsar has the same size dia and spline count as the Patrol, Navara's are the same also.
SO it will be as tight as a Factory one.
If you would like a pic I can see what I can find. As I did take pics of it and posted them ages ago.

Pintara / Ford Corsair as well, apparently.

Yeah I agree with Turps. The Pulsar wheel has plenty of spline overlap, at least 12-15mm. It fits the Patrol steering column like a glove, a thin round grey glove...
