YJ Wrangler leaf springs kit

I recently purchased a kit to fit yj leaf springs to my zuk. I imported it from the states; Rocky Road Outfitters.

Does anyone know why it wont fit!

I have a 94 stockman and Im suspecting that the spring hangers are different on a stockman to a sierra.

So far I have only tried to fit the rears and they dont fit, however I dont want to install the fronts if the rears arent going to fit.

Regrettably I will probably have to sell this kit and the springs if anyone is interested.

the stockman is the same as a sierra.as far as i know you have to alter the spring hangers as they are wider and longer.and DON'T do a reverse shackle kit.

The front spring hangers on a stockman are the same as a sierra, however the rear spring hangers are totally different. So you would be able to fit the front YJ kit, but the rear YJ kit wont fit unless you make some new hangers of some sort.

Sorry Guys, Ive been busy....

The difference in suspension between the the stockman and the sierra seems to be that the rear spring mounts are not aligned with the chassis on the stockman. The spring mounts are a springs width towards the outside of the vehicle.

The kit is designed with a 'u' shaped bracket that bolts to the fixed end of the spring mount, slides up over the chassis and additional bolts are added.

I didnt give up however. I had some 6mm plate laying around so I made some bendy spring hangers to fit over the offset mounts.

Thanks for your concern guys.

I hope that makes sense Im a bit toasty....

Hey redzook

how do you tell if its a widetrack?

Have you got this kit?

I havent looked at the front springs but I've just finished the back and they seem ok with my modified brackets.

too much dude.

I havent driven the car with the springs in it yet but its not that special.

It cost $600 american plus $180AU postage and then I paid $70 a spring.

Then it took weeks to get here and didnt fit my stockman.

This was probably my fault for not checking they were the same properly; I relyied on advice from someone on here.

To add to the dilemma they dont include shock mounts on their kit!

So I ended up with the mig out welding up my own spring hangers and making up my own shock mounts for the spring plates.

I would advise against the kit mainly because they come from america.
They would be a great kit to get if you were in the states where yj springs are plentiful and you dont have to pay so much postage. But because were in Australia Its going to cost you more for what is basically a budget kit.
