check if theres power going to the switch and pull the door trim off remove the 2 bolts that hold the window to the reg and then duct tape the window up untill you can fix it

If you just want to get the window up and it is just the gear in the motor has stripped, not the regulator that has crapped itself. Just remove the door trip and unscrew the winder motor and pull it off the splined shaft. Then just get a pair of pliers onto the splined shaft and wind the window up like a normal manual winder.

I had to do this when my motor stripped a the nylon gear.

I'm hoping you've got the windows up by now ;)

Pull the switches apart and thoughally clean the contacts. They get heaps of gunk built up and don't work. I've had to clean up mine a couple of times.

First time it happened was like you said, pissing down rain - why is that huh? :? Bloody Murphy's law !

I tapped into main switch with spare bits of wire to individually wind up the RHS back and passengers' windows as only the driver's and LHS back would go up.

After it stopped raining i cleaned up contacts and it was all good. Don't spray 'em with heaps of wd40 or anything tho as i did the first time, or they'll gunk up again very quickly, or burn out if your not lucky.

Couple of screws retaining armrest to door. And then cover on block of switches is clipped into armrest, be careful cos those clips would be easy to break. Once that's apart the switches are all screwed onto a mount. Fiddly s**t!

after you take the two screws out, you have to slide it towards you then it comes off

Mine comes out without the removal of any screws. Just slie it forward to get the back out and then pull it backwards.

Anyway i'm having the same dramas. I pulled it appart and cleaned all the crap away and it still only works sometimes. i think it is because the long plastic things that move the contacts may have worn away a bit over time.

Can you buy these switches from anywhere??

Jimmy

Ps: mine gets stuck up and if i manage to get it down it will always go up YAY!!
