Front Leaf Springs...

How do i tell if i have my front leaf springs (60series) around the right way. I have heard that the front right is supposed to be of a heavier duty due to its the drivers side.

After playing around with a few different springs/Shackles in the rear (2in lifted), i have come to thing that maybe if the fronts were around the wrong way, this could be causing the lean on my vehicle. If i look at my rear shackles, one is leaning back and one is leaning forward. Never thought that it could be one of the fronts maybe pulling it down.

They are by no means new springs, but i aslo have another set, maybe if i put them on and see how it goes.

Advice welcomed...

the leaf that is pulling the shackle forward(towards its self inverting)is likely to be in backwards . try turing it around and see what happens if it pushes the shackle back then it should be in right.hope that helps

Some spring manafacturers have a left and right and some don't. Either way, with nobody in the vehicle the lean should barely be noticable. More than likely some other factor contributing to it. How old are the springs? could simply be a buggered spring. Spare wheel carriers hanging out the back will cause a lean also.

PITA but the best way to tell is to swap them side to side and see if it makes a difference.
I don't think one of your leaves will be in backwards!
Cheers.

Spare wheel carrier is on the left, vehicle leans to the right...

Wat i have done so far is..

replaced old rear springs with other springs i had and longer shackles... still a lean...
put old springs back in with ome greasable shackles, but on opposite sides to before, less of a lean, but still there...

Going to swap the fronts over next weekend to see how that goes...

If that fails, well, ill reside to the fact thats somethings probably bent/twisted like the spring mounts on the chassis, or the chassis itself.

So many things to replace at the moment.. the whole front end is pretty much worn, so thats the next thing...

Thanks guys.
