Tacho in an MQ patrol :?:

I need to know how do i set up a tacho in my mq diesel patrol i dont know where to hook the sending wire up to

The sender unit is on the timing case cover. If you are looking at the engine front on it is on the lower left hand side.

you running 12v or 24v ? becuase all the automater & speco all are 12v, VDO were the only 24v i could find :? :? :?

it didnt come with a tacho and it is 24volt but a converter can change it to 12 volt and on the timming case where is the wire to hook it up to

everyone i looked at had a tacho, i didnt think they came with out tacho's my bad. yeah mines also 24v

i have a feeling that when this issue was previously brought up here one of the MQ gurus (kingy or screwy) reckoned there wasn't a sensor to connect it to.

do a little maths to work out what rpm you're doing at what speed in what gear, and that's all you'll ever need to know. they love 20km/h 1st, 40km/h 2nd, and 60-70km/h 3... at least mine does, it'll drive up the biggest hills at half throttle without a puff of smoke at those speeds...

First 3 years of the SD33 doesn't have a tacho, after this period they get a clock. MK onwards came out with tacho. Patchy if you've seen a MQ with one in I would be suggesting it has been retro'ed

yeh i can hook up 12v its just the sender wire i have no sender unit neither
