Hi Guys,

OK, I have done a search and couldnt find anything on this so here goes, if I am wrong and there is other information please post a link.

Anyways, Am looking for an air compressor for inflating tyres, air beds etc, was thinking about purchasing a cheapie off ebay, they have a couple there supposedly 90L/min for about $40 you can get them for.

Does anyone have any experience with these are they any good or should I same some extra coinand get something from TJM, ARB etc.

You have is apprectaited

In my experience they don't last too long - I had a knock off one from supercheap that lasted until the piston destroyed itself in under a year of occasional use

I wouldn't buy and ARB compressor I think they are overrated and I haven't played with the TJM ones, one thing to check is the pressure that the 90L/min is measured at to see if the statistic is meaningful.

I now have one similar to the ones that the guys running airbag suspension use - has a filter and is a large unit with a 100% duty cycle which is fantastic - the downside was the price - cost around $500 from memory

I wouldn't waste my time with the ebay ones - I wore mine out powering an air horn

I reckon if you spend less than $200, you'll be disappointed....

Just my 2 bobs worth!

I've had an ARB mounted under my bonnet for about 4 years and have had no problems at all.

air beds and tyres are two very different things to pump up. Air beds are low pressure but require very high volume. The pumps for these only cost about $15 so just do it.
tyres are high pressure but in comparrison low volume. ARB compressors have the pressure for tyres but are too slow. The bushranger copy's are worthless - get the real thing. There are a few other options as well depending on space. check out big balls web page for a capable tyre compressor.

get a bushranger or big red or something... not worth it buying a cheapie..
i had a supercheap $80 one for a while and it worked fine, but i got a bushranger now and im quite happy with it. pumps my 35s up quick enough to keep me happy and doesnt really get hot at all..
so far so good
