Vitara SWB Replacement Soft Top Options ... ???

Guys,
Before I go and blow $500-$600 on a new soft top for the missus' new fun mobile (92 Vit SWB), what are my options for replacing the already trashed one?
Should I buy local made and if so do you have any brand names and/or suppliers I can contact, preferrably in Melb?
Are the ebay import jobbies good quality and/or worth the wait and money?
Google has not been my friend today as I have not found much info in Aus on prices or availablity ...
Any and all help appreciated ...

Try emailing Maria and see if she can help you. From what the people involved with this buy seem to think she did a pretty good job on their orders.

Thanks dude, I've sent Maria an e-mail but I have a feeling they only make these for Sierras, I can't see any reference to Vit's in that thread.
Any other idea's anyone?
I'd really would hate to have to import one to save money as at this stage, aussie-made prices are a joke (not including Maria's prices of course)

i'm looking for the same
cheapest i have found is aus made and local for $525
the ebay ones are aus made i think and come in 2 varieties
one that last 5yrs and the other 10 yrs
the one i have at the moment is a bestop and its trashed
i have found on amazon.com they have them from us$200 and i can't imagine shipping would be over $100

How have you found the bestop branded ones? How long did it last, etc?
I am currently waiting on shipping costs from a mob in the US for a Bestop Replace-a-top.

numerous sierra's up here have the fast back style soft top like i have on my vitara.
no good if you still want to cart people around in the back, but if its only a 2 seater, then it shouldn't be too much problem. of course, storage will be a little less in the back, but i have had no problems.
and i think maria is looking at making soft tops for vitara's like she has done the sierras.

Cheers.
I've already received an e-mail from Maria, she was already looking into Vit tops before I contacted her but at this stage, she is not sure when they will be available and the one I need to replace is fairly urgent.
Although I don't mind the fastback option, it's the missus car and she wants a full soft top so in this case, what she says, goes ...
vit soft top

Yeah, I've been hearing a few good thing about the Bestops.
Just need the US mob to e-mail me a shipping price and we're ready to roll I think.

I should probably shouldn't be doing this but we are here to help each other. I know of two places that sale soft tops in QLD, Brisbane.
DALEY'S 07 3717 3900
NOLAN:
www.nolans.com.au 07 3808 1888 not sure if they do Suzuki
And I do not know if they are made in Australia.
I know one day I will have all the soft tops for the different Suzuki but is going to take me time as I need to borrow the car to make the temple.
Hope this helps. Good luck!

my bestop branded one is very trashed
not sure how old it is but all the stitching breaks with the slightest bit of pressure and the vinyl is cracked i'd rather a canvas top over a vinyl top anyday
a place in sydney imports bestops but want over $600 for them so i'll prob just get the local made one as i need one asap
