Well i have a funny grinding nosie that only goes away when car is a normal temp.

before the noise statred i put new oil in i normally run penrite but was a bit poor so wacked in sum cheap mineral shit.

then went 4wding that weekend and went through alot of mud.

then the grinding started, i ll put sum new oil in engine and gearbox tommorow. The grinding is at its worse when car is ideling

but what i want to know is what else spins/moves when the car is not moving.i was thinking sum mud/crap is up near clutch and flywheel.

any of your fan belt pully's? water pump? idler's? clutch fan? basically anything on the front of your motor

clutch fan would be my first check, see if spraying some wd40 or similar in there and if it stops, theres your problem!

I doubt it would be your motor or oil choices

ohh havent thought of that, its a REAL simple engine i got a fan a water pump and an alternator (so we can rule out a/c or power steering :D )

ill check the fan.

alternator bearing is common problem, but they can squeal for years without a prob, but can die quickly, too
