Does anyone know how to test an airflow meter to see if its still ok.

My dual fuel 4.2efi patrol runs like crap on petrol but the other day i unplugged the air flow meter and it ran better, so i'm guessing thats where the problem lies?

Any help would be great

yeah you're probably right. Does it go ok on gas :?:

You haven't advanced the timing to go better on gas or anything have you? Gas is higher ocatne so you can do that but it'll cause detonation on petrol

It runs great on gas and yes the timing is about 15 degrees but it doesnt ping at all on petrol, but i dont really run it on petrol cause it hesitates so much.

if the afm being disconnected fixed it I'd price a new one and go from there. If it runs ok on gas I would guess the afm might not be the problem but that's my diagnosis  I'm not a mechanic and can't see or hear the car so you know ;)
