Outer Limits 4x4 Board

ive just ordered a set of mudzillas for my cruiser .im just after some honest opinions of what there like from people who have tryed them.i couldnt decide between the creepy crawlers and mudzillas and went for the muddies just because of the $50 difference per tyre and i bought 5.let me know cheers Scott

hey mate two of the guys i go 4bing with hav two big sixties running 35inch maxxis mudzillas and if you are gona use em for mud and you got a big enough engine to spin em your gonna go places they tare through anything. good mud tyre

sound good ,some people say they wear fast but they never say how far they get out of them,5000 or 50,000.ive been running 35 inch bfg muds last to sets but have destroyed the sidewalls before the tred.the maxxis sidewalls sound tuff

i would recomend them for off road use only not to drive on everyday as yes they are a very soft compond and so the dont like the tar too much or rocks. otherwise a good tyre

bias tyre so better for bush and not road, can't really compare with radials

I think they have a pretty stiff sidewall & don't bag out all that well when you drop the tyre pressure???? Haven't owned them so I won't comment too much

Im the same. Yeah they might not be the quietest ones around.

I use mine on road all the time as well. They have done plenty of kilometers with no signs of excessive wearing!

does anyone have any pics of them? I checked the maxxis site but it came up with an atv tyre.

they look alot like a claw, so much so I am pretty certain that they were sued for the design ...

they grip very well, they bagged easily enough (at 12psi) under a shorty patrol and they wear very very fast if used onroad.

I personally think they are a great tyre but do wear abit oo quick for my likings.

they where sued by mickey thompson and mt won the court case so maxxis has to change the design by 10%.as for a picture ,if your on google ,type in maxxis mudzilla and click images above some pics will come up.Thanks for all the replys so far there has been no negatives.I should have them on friday and will give them a run sunday on a club trip.

ahhhh yes the old BS change it by 10% and it won't be a copyright infringement. How do you change a tyre design 10%? Always makes me laugh when people throw that figure around.

I'd imagine there is alot more too the chnage requireents than just 10%

i good dose of the skinny peddal on a rock wall should change them by 10%

What are you paying per tire? (If you don't mind me asking) Also what size are you buying?

they do come in a 35 ,thats what ive bought 35x 13.5 x 15 .They were $320.00 each fitted.

I had them on my old 4Runner, it was my daily driver, so they got a fair few road miles, didn't seem to be wearing any faster than your average muddie, fairly noisy, but road grip was impressive even in the wet.
Offroad, I had them in mud, on sandstone, granite, dirt, gravel, grass, etc.
Steep hills, cross slopes, they took everything in thier stride, except for muddy descents, very little control going downhill in the slop.
They didn't bag at all with the weight of the 4Runner (even at 4psi), but they did mould around rocks quite easily at low pressures.
I would highly recommend them, mine are still going strong on a fellow club members comp car. (for the record they were 33x13.5r15)

My mate has them on his 80 the 35`s. They do wear really fast and not recomended for road use. When driving slowly on the black top you will feel every knob of rubber. Shakes your truck. Also killed my mates RTC (4way) he had to go buy the big bugger one $300 (still an RTC).

Bloody brilliant in the mud, noisy on raod, but we all love the noise.

Chip easily on rock (at Appin anyway) but so will most tyres out there.

Great offroad tyre, but I would also opt for another set for street duties. Also remeber its illegal to run bias tyres on the road unless your vehcile came out from the factory with them. Your insurance company knows this

D'ya reckon you need a 10" rim or would they be ok on an 8"? 13.5 is getting pretty wide for a 8" rim to handle...

No they have to go on a 15x10

I had 35" mudzillas and they were a god tyre. .wore to fast tho.. i now have 38.5" creepies and they are better again and wear heaps better too

What is fast wear classed as?? Is a All Terrain that is stuffed at 70,000km fast wear? Or is a Muddy that is bald at 40,000km fast wear?
I guess it just comes down to personal opinion.

I sold mine after about 5-6tho and they woulda been nearly a quarter gone
