Mid range grunt wanted.

G'day guys...I need some help (advice) as to the easiest and as always the cheapest way to modify my 96 coily Sierra 1.3 for a bit more sustained grunt.
Reason is that I am towing a trailer made from the chassis and tub from a soft top Sierra..a new axle hubbed to Sierra rims. Not heavy, but the Suzi does struggle a bit.
Any thoughts ? ie; the extractors ( configuration) and maybe carby from a Vitara .Think I read somewhere about a bolt on 1.6 carby?...heck..yeah I know how silly it is to tow a trailer, but I'm an old bloke not in a hurry to get anywhere, retired and open to abuse from holding up the traffic..mmmm, I could join the 'grey nomads'.
OK gang...give me heaps...Cheers

Probably the easiest thing would be change the cam, extractors may be good 1.6l carby will just ruin your fuel economy and not help IMHO

The 1.6 carby is a great mod ... leave it bolted to the 1.6 intake, head, block etc .. great improvement in midrange grunt :D

Seriously unless you are doing exactly what I typed above dont bother ..

Get a cam regrind, decent exhaust thats about it for the cheap easy stuff .. then you need to look at some more $$ on head mods better breathing etc..

There are heaps of threads about head mods ... after that your best of increasing cubic capacity with a 1.5 kit or swap in a 1.6..
