has anybody fixed the drama of the tires rubbing under the guard, not so much on the chassis rail but on the body above the chassis. i think if i use wheel spacers the smallest i can go is 25mm. i got alloys and if i use a 6mm spacer i dont think i'll have enough thread to hold the nut on.

i was thinking of cutting out the section it rubs on, meaning i would have to cut into the back area inside the rear of the wagon. seams like a lot of work to do. i dont wont to cut the wagon into a ute until i roll it.

what have you done to fix this problem? is anybody using spacers on a wagon? what size?

rims are 15x8, 35 mtr's, 6"spring, 2" body.

im guessing u are using patrol offset rims?
try using cruiser offset as they push the wheel outwards a lil further

cruiser offset, the tires only just miss the outer guard on full compression. so i dont think i can go with wheel spacers cause than the tire will hit the outside guard.

this is where its rubs.

you can see have far the tire goes under the guard. (water is from esky tipping over)

Why worry about it? It would only rub occasionally on full flex!! Is it hurting the tyres?

Tub the rear, its about 1 days work and gives you another 50mm each side. Thats how I fitted my 42's onto the Mav without hitting.

thats what i want to hear. i would like to fit some 37's in the future.

was ur mav a lwb? got a pic you can show. did you go all the way across the back with the tub, or just enough to clear. i was thinking if i went all the way across i could make a tool box or a water tank in the middle.

let it rub. i'm running 5" springs, factory + 17mm offset rockcrawlers, and scungy 285 /75's. still rubs, makes a noise, takes paint off and doesn't matter two knobs.

Don't worry about it. Most patrols & cruisers that are used off road will rub in the arches. At least it proves that you really DO go 4wdriving.

i've done a rear quarter cut, inline with the bottom of the indictors. it stopped that lot of rubbing.

maybe i should just put a 5link in the front, atleast than if it rubs theres not much more i can do about it.
