A mate of mine ATM is putting a landrover body onto a unimog chassis with unimog axles, suspension, gearbox etc with a rover v8. I should see it in the next few weeks and I will be sure to take pics.

Thanks for everything already on this...BUT, I am worried about driveshaft issues, braking and so forth, NOT welding mounts for the suspension, which is easy...

Drive shafts is easy - do the pinion conversion and get a transfer case with a front LHS output and centred rear.

Brakes are easy - just a master of a dia bigger than 1in (mine is 1 1/16 and works well) people say 1 1/8 is even better.

The hardest part of using mogs is fitting everything under the rig including the links (esp the front) and clearance issues with the motor. Mogs are a very big axle.
