Final got around to hooking up the handbrake to the rear discs.
Fan bloody tastic.
Why didn't I do this yonks ago.
Works great, always works, and still works after a trip.
Tis strange, tho, as it don't rock back n forward anymore, on the driveline slack.
Drum on the tailshaft in theory is a great idea. But It never lasted more than 5 minutes, and shoes were gone again.
The rear discs chew pads a little quick, but still cheaper and longer lasting than drum brakes are to maintain.
I used all the cables and lever mechanism and clips from the Pintara the discs came off.

Nice work christover1
Feel free to convert my rear's to disc and hooking up the handbrake too em

Ive been told rear discs can be really twitchy on sierra's (rear end slides out a lot), have you had any issues?

I haven't had any probs. Mines a 1.0 litre, hence no power booster. I don't know if that makes a difference.
But with any changes, learning the car's new handling is important.
There is a small spring valve thingy that holds slight fluid pressure on the rear wheels, needed for drums to function, in the master cylinder.
This can be removed to help rear discs work better.
You can also use brake bias in the line, which some zooks already have.
Some people use different pads front and rear, or different sized discs to help bias.
Most of the hard work was done by a mate (sr20 zook owner)
I'm sure he'd make some more conversion plates, but its a lot of work, and not cheap.
Rather good tho, especially after mud, as brakes still work

I trimmed down the old handbrake drum, today, this will give me a cleaner underneath, less to hang up on

Another great advantage is that you've actually got decent brakes if you have to back down a hill!
