have you got the imobiliser bypass plug - you will need that first. Other than that they need bugger all to start - tony has done one

I know how to get around the imobiliser without the plug. There are a couple of different harnesses used over the years and i have the wires that need conecting to get one of them going at work. I will try and remember to have a look for you tomorrow.

What year model is it? Look near the computer plug there will be a black plug about 6" back that is about 35mm long and 10mm thick. This is the Imobiliser plug but as i said dont worry about it as its only cutting a few wires and joining them together to by-pass it.

Just found this it may help-

Im pretty sure this also worked on my 97 motor i fitted to my rangie after bypassing the imobiliser.

by not not
So i gather a 90 model range rover 3.9 harness would not have an immobilizer? As i am in the process of wiring up my 3.9 into the buggy as well. About 25cm back from the computer plug there is another plug which i cant figure out what its for. Sorry bout hijack but thought Tony would know this one as well. Cheers Jamie

Ok for the imobiliser plug.
You will find if you look closely that its numbered.
Connect #10 to #6
Connect #88 to #4
Connect #2 to #3
Leave the remaining wires as they are.
It will now start.

Ok i have another style of wiring to get them to run other than what i posted in the link above-
Small white/purple wire-Fuel pump
Large purple/white wire-Ignition Source
Large Brown-Constant Power
These wires are all in the plug just after the harness comes through the firewall.
And White/Green to coil(This wire is usually found out near the Airflow meter wiring.
The Above wiring is what i used in my 97 Disco motor into my 86 rangie.

i think i have it ok, had to lengthen the loom and stuff around a bit. On the brown plug (the one with the fuel pump ignition/constant power) do the other wires just get terminated? Also What size fuse is for the constant power? Also tony, what size do you reccomend for the Haultech traction computer?
Thanks
Andy
