positive goes to the flasher unit before it goes to the switch turn switch, it just flashes if power goes through it, it doesnt care which side as long as there is low enough resistance through the circuit for it to operate (otherwise it stays on and does not flash).
So if one side is working, the flasher is fine, and like the others have said, its a ground problem somewhere. Take all the covers off the lights and test each light by running a wire from the light body (bayonet type probably) to a good ground, when it starts flashing again, you have found your problem light.
Still got problems? hard wire in another bulb somewhere. (dodgy fix)
