I need a transfer case for an early model pajero. Doesn't have to be in awesome condition, I just really need the chain from it as mine is stretched and making some shocking noises.

I think it is stretched and skips teeth on the gears........

Cheers

Hmmmm, not a massively uncommon problem for high km early Jabbers.
I have a spare super select chain but that won't fit unfortunately.
If your doing the case yourself pay careful attention to the output shaft main bearing (they usually cark it if the chain is stretched and starts jumping). Output shaft end float is also very important as is shimming up the main chain cogs.
If you need some advice just ask.
We have pulled apart and rebuilt 3 of these cases they are a fairly simple set up, a super select case is way more complicated with the centre diff etc. Pretty much your looking at a total dismantle and rebuild with a new chain if it hasn't done major damage.
If the case is cactus don't chuck it there are a few bits I need I will buy off you. The skipping chain sounds like a metallic twang (like running a steel ruler through the spokes of a bike).

Frank.
