Blown front diff, transfer case, or both?

Hi. I l have 2, F300 Rockys, One an off road only, A frame towable toy, which I lent to a friend for the weekend. He unfortunately towed it many kilometres, at highway speed, on the return trip, with the 4x4 shift in low. Naturally some expensive damage has occurred...with a rather spectacular,
copious expulsion of smelly smoke apparently. Could someone advise, whether the damage is likely to the front diff, the transfer case - or both.
Rear wheel drive still functions.
Thanks.

I've towed a Landcrusier with my roza, from LCMP to kilcoy, that's like 1 half hour drive in low range. clutch sure was wore out, stardard clutch:bad-words:
My diffs were still going strong, my transfer still going strong.

Give ur shaft a shake and see if anything loose, could be wore uni joint or transfer on the way out.. was there any noise when ur in 4by? Bit more detail can be useful ;)

Was fine before the weekend, cant give much more detail as I wasn't present. Lots of black oil over everthing underneath. Am told ithings became noisey before smoke, then silence. Rocky towed much better
after that. (am banging my head against the wall as I write!)
