Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hi

Im new to the forums and was wondering what size tyres i could fit on my Sierra?

Its pretty much completely stock, except i installed 2" longer shackles which gives me about 1" of lift. Any help would be much appreciated.

Search first before asking questions like this, its been covered a million times. Short answer, whatever you want if ya prepared to cut the guards etc. Search then give us some more info on what you wanna do with the car and what tyres you want too. E.G.Not all 31 inch tyres measure the same in real life

Short answer 30x9.5" with a bit of hammer work inside the gaurds.
But as stated it all depends what you want to do.
Also remember you need to factor in transfer case gears and/or diff gears when you go bigger or you will have a slug that burns out clutches

depends how sagged your springs are?. what size tyres do u have on it now? how much room between ur current tyres and your gaurds?. do you scrub out your current tyres when off road, if so do you really want to go bigger therefore limiting your flex even more. but in the end big tyres are great for there wank factor.

How are bigger tyres a "wank factor" ?? Obviously you have not had bigger rubber on a 4x4 set up to use it ...

The tyres on it now are what i believe are standard sierra tyre size (Im not sure what that is). They are Bridgestone Desert Duelers and have not yet scrubbed out when ive been off road.

They are probably stock 205 road tyres..... They never scrub offroad cos they're too small! If you dont want to do any lifting then an aggressive 235 AT or MT tyre should do the job. But you might get a bit of rubbing depending how hard you go Next suggestion 2" lifted springs

With the 2" lifted springs, would i need to buy any extra stuff like longer shocks, brake line ect.?

Nope, but check your bushes in case they have deteriorated and need replacing. If you still have original shocks you might want to replace them too if they're shagged

You will need a longer shock in back (or you risk ripping the stockers in half and you will have almost NO downtravel in the rear) ..

Many years ago when I thought that a set of 2 inch springs was HUGE I found this out the hard way

So if i got the lifted springs id have to get new shocks for the rear. I might aswell get them in the front too.

Deffinatley replace ya shocks if your going from standard to lifted springs. Otherwise you will risk damaging the shocks from overextension. OME medium duty springs and 40mm longer shackels will give you 30mm downtravel with std shocks in the rear and last about 20 min of wheeling . Also if your shocks are shagged, changing the rears will just re-inforce how bad the fronts are, and the front will benefit from better shocks that are the correct length and valving for the lifted spring making for a better ride and potentially more travel.
