Hey,
I have a 12HT 60 Series and im thinking of putting it on coils. At the moment im thinking of just putting the motor and body on an 80Series chassis as i like the 60 Series body and i love the 12HT. Has this been done, if so how hard is itor is there anything else that you can do to put it on coils that would be easier. Any help would be great thanx guys. Reise

just put it on a new chassis..... front end will cost about a grand and rear the same to get links setup. going through this with another car and if it is going to be legal and road registered just leave it leaf.... alot of hassle

Hey Croozer.. I'm looking at this myself. the 80 series chassis would be a fair amount of work as the rails are closer together on the 80. I guess it depends on how capable you are yourself. If you have the ability and imagination the anything is possible, but if your paying someone with the ability then your imagination stretches as far as your wallet.
I have decided to go GQ coils in the front and looking at coil overs or a chassis mod with GQ coils in the rear.
If i make it happen soon i'll do a thread on it.

sounds like a few ppl have the same idea about coiling their 60s, iv just bobbed the rear of my 60 by 400mm, and was thinking that the next major mod would be a coil conversion, but like you guys, i dont know which is the best way to go about it...

My HJ60 is going to be converted to coil in the ass end only though. Maybe, just maybe the front will get done, but dont like the idea of fiddling with the steering and so on (I guess that would be affected by the conversion).
Will let you know when this gets done in my members thread.

Thanx guys. my capabilities arent to bad. croozer is actually my bosses name on here i havent got aroud to gettin my own yet so im just usin his for now. But im an exhaust fitter by trade so the cutting and welding issue is nothing much and i also have a mate that is an engineer so if worse comes to worse ill get him to do the weldin so its good enough and then he can engineer it for me. I sorta wanna make it as legal as possible. Like its registered and as long as i dont let itrun out of rego ill be fine but i dont have a liscence at the moment and the mney situation is gettin low so it might run out.I already have an 80 chassis so i think ill just stick with it along the way ill take photos and ill let yas know. Thanks Heaps Reise

i asked the enginer about body n chassi swap as i had a 100 series rails n diffs and a 40 cab
problem is that the cab/body must comply with the adr rules of the chassi year model
so now the 40 body n rails are gettig the 100 diffs

GQ front suspension geometry is pretty sucky, why not use 80 or rover

Change of plan any way... but i don't care for the geometry, i'm just using the springs... The geometry will be ruffy style!!
