Hi guys, got a series 2 VN V6 engine in a hilux which had a knock in the bottom end. The internals are rs and i need to know if the VS Ecotec engines are the same bolt pattern at the bellhousing and if the wiring and computer are the same. Thanks for any info.

Have been told that the bell housing bolt patterns of VS and VN are the same. VS wiring is different as it has BCM and more electrics for the auto, means more money to fit it in. I have fitted VN series 2 as it was alot easier and cheaper for me. Also like the fact the T700 in the VN has less wiring.

VN through VT/U including supercharged all have the same bolt pattern from the block to the gearbox
Fit the VS engine but use the VN harness
I fit the VS/T V6 engines using the VN/P harness and computor, I would like a dollar for every woody that tells me it will not work

I used the VX ecotec, the computer on the VX costs alot to override the anti theft, so we changed the engine computer and harness to a VT worked sweet, I would have thought that the engine harness from a VN V6 would be different to an Ecotec V6 from a later commodore, but it seems they are not
