if you were in the market for a lux, wat would u expect to pay for a rig like this?
bloke had 17 grand on it.. but have offered him 15 because of a concern that the advertised locker diff isnt so.. the diff case was drilled, but had the hole blocked with a self tapper, we re atached the air line and when we pressed the locker button on the dash all we got was air going in and coming back out the breather hose??? not familiar with the config of lockers, can someone fill me in on whats happening here..
cheers fellas

It may still have a difflock in it. The copper line running inside to the centre could be damaged or the seals may be blown in the centre. Either way its a PITA to fix but if you do it yourself not very expensive. The centre needs to be removed for the repair.
If you pull the oil filler plug out of the housing you should be able to see if it has an ARB locker in it but you do need to know what you are looking at. The Hemisphere case looks totaly different to any other type.
Its prob worth 15 but i wouldnt pay any more than that for it.
Is it a solid axle front or IFS?

deisel028... not in canberra... its location is my secret, dont need anyone else jumpin in and offerin the bloke 500 bucks more than me ahahah..
as for the locker, been speaking to the bloke today, he recons if he blocks the diff breather then hits the locker button he can hear the clunk of it ingaging.. hard to believe but anyways.. we are ganna put the floor jack under the axle and see if we get drive on both wheels..
ruff, its solid front end..
also could you offer a bit more info on checking for the copper pipes inside, because now i think of it even if we jack it up to see if it " locks" and it dont, that may mean its only a farked seal, or a disconected copper pipe.. but then again it might mean its only got a limmo.. or even worse, an open diff.. dohhh
guy seems to be set on 16 grand as his lowest now that he thinks the locker is working, but if i can prove him wrong ill spend the time to save the moeny... no locker means all he will get from me is 15 grand max...
also cause its NSW rego
hint for u there deisel..
it will mean a bit more f*ing around than buyin one locally... pretty much gotta ditch the nsw rego, cause its sooo much to change it to ACT... luckly think its only 3 months anyways..
cheers for the imput fellas

There would be no reason that I could see of going to all the trouble of fitting all the crap to pretend its locked. Does the fit look like it has been there for awhile?
Ruff is right though the air coming out of the air breather doesn't mean it aint there but aforementioned problems with it may be present.
As ruff said can be fixed.
I found this site very informative on the above problems because it has good pics and a laymans explanation.

I am sure there are others but it expalins the Oring problem...

Slayer, I dont want to offer anyone more money than you for a truck I dont even want. I was merely enquiring to its location so I could possibly go and have a look.
Cheers
