Well.....not expecting to get a big response out of this
one , but here goes anyways.
How do you manage to keep your heater unit once the front members
of a six point cage go through the dash.
I can do without the heater but it is more the fan unit that pushes the ac
around that I want to keep.
Is it possible. Patrol GU

I had no problems keeping all of it. I just ran it through the dash in line with the front edge of the door, the only thing I had to move was the fuse panel and cut a couple of holes in my dash

Cheers toughnut.
Dash is out as is the rest of the interior. I knew it would be a tight fit , so I guess it is just down to bending skills.
I guess you dont run a spreader bar under the dash between the two doors
Not needed for ccda at the moment anyways.
I'll search for your pics in the members thread, if any?

Your right about the spreader bar. You don't need one because the GU has one already built in under the dash. I don't have any pics of my cage up yet. I'll try to get some today for you. Basically I have my Main "B" pillar hoop that is X braced and then I have a support coming down over each door, down the "A" pillar, through the dash and then bolt onto the floor near your feet. They pass just in front of the cross brace under the dash. I then have a cross brace at the top of the windscreen. The only other thing that I have to do is put another brace between the windscreen and the top of the "B" pillar hoop. For a 6 point cage you just have a "C" pillar hoop that you tie into the cage as well. Your main support is always your "B" pillar.

I my Gu we had to put a smaller fan in and cut the blower box then used tape around the huge cut in the blower box.number 3 on the fan is now what 1 used to be.
Had to keep the bar away from the door as to get engineered.
4 point cage in the ute
this was in sydney . NSW

I'll get pics to show you. you don't need to cut anything other than some vents and a couple of holes in the top of th dash. Oh and move the fuse panel about an inch to the left

Pics would be great
I was thinking of trying to run the A pillars behind the gu spreader.
Depending on how tight a fit we can get.........maybe I can
get away with cutting into the blower box as thunder has done.
Cheers.

Steve,
thanks for the quick reply and photos. Great help. I'm having trouble
posting any photos on OL at the moment. Used to be able to post up pics in the ( for sale ) sections. Not sure if I'm just useless with the mac or what is going on.
Did you get your cage plated ( dot )
Work gets started on ours in the next couple of days. Looking forward to
being able to thrash it around again. its been off the road ( on stands )
for a while now.
Cheers

If the mods are listed on your mod plate they are a legally binding item. What part of the mods do you think are not legal?
