G52 Gearbox

Has anyone had a G52 gearbox rebuilt ? and what do you think is a fair price for this job. I have had a quote 1300 and that is with me doing the R&R got a feeling it could be a bit steep.

there`s heaps going second hand ,there is 1 on ebay now

Depends on what sort of job you are after all bearings and seals syncros replaced etc....

I had mine rebuilt by western gearbox and diff in Penrith for just over $1000 including R+R
I had 5th gear replaced in it as it had been destroyed by previous owner, none of the synchro's needed replacing but these could add several hundreds to the cost of your rebuild if it requires it
