Outer Limits 4x4 Board

i picked up a 3.3litre diesel motor (complete) off ebay for $405 very cheap i recon i never saw it run didnt have any history
people called me stupid
this motor sat in grass for 12months without it running (motor was on bricks)

i dropped this motor changed trottle body (for shits n giggles)
only problem i had with the motor was the pressure valve of the injector pump was stuck open didnt keep pressure fuel was just going back down the return line and the glow plug where gone

sorted that out bled her up plugged in all the power sockets
put my alt onto this motor (becuase i knew it worked)

cracked it over it run a bit smokey at first beside that was fine
found a leaking injector washer (no big deal small fuel leak)

done a clean oil change with filter to go with of course

great compression no smoke no knocking starts first time everytime
and now have spare parts like
alt
starter motor
head+cam gear
flywheel

so for $405 and a slab for a mate we dropped this motor in i recon it was a gamble on the motor but its a gamble i took for $405

i thought i would share this story maybe when people find parts on ebay they might think twice

sounds like a good buy. When i was trying to source a 5.0 Litre V8 for my engine conversion, i couldn't get one any cheaper than $2,500 WITHOUT a harness...... i got one off ebay for $1,800 with the lot... and it runs great!! very happy with it. I know some have been stung on ebay...... i guess it's a chance you take. some win, some lose.... luckily you and I won
