HEy all, ive been readin the forums for ages and finally decided to get off my butt and register, just a quick question,
How does A holden 308 mq patrol swb compare in fuel consumption with the l28 petrol motor?
At the moment i get about 200km out of about 60 litres of lpg.
thanks

If you are speaking of a modern injected 5ltr then it would be better, don't know about carby.
I know with my GQ that after removing the petrol 4.2 and replacing with the 4.5 V8 fuel consumption has noticeably improved and it has double the power (and thats driven hard too!).

I was wondering because one night i was filling her up at a servo and another lpg mq swb drove in to fill up and after a lengthy chat with the owner i found out he had stuck a 5ltr ford v8 into his and said he gets about 400km per 60-70 ltrs of lpg.

if you slot in a 5l motor ( on lpg it doesent matter TOO much if its EFI) you will get better economy and usable power most definatly.
THe engine just doesent need to work as hard as the old donk.

well if ya MPG figures are correct then
FIT the 308 now !!! I get 160 k's from a 40lit tank of LPG, double the grunt and it overtakes so
easy.., but look seriously at the 350 chev option too, the horsepower ratio is very similay but the torque diff is huge !
get a conversion kit from ...

so easy !
