You can just about fit any engine in you want mate. Just have to be prepared to do some firewall mods, bonnet mods etc. In most cases it will jsut be the $$$ issues that hold back conversions, not the cutting etc involved.

cubic inches will get you power. Unfortunately you still want to be able to drive it, so stay away from heavy motors.

So this means you are now looking at an Alloy V8. You can buy alloy blocks from the states for 302's up to 427 cobrajets.

But I hope you are a sucsessful drug smuggler.........cos if you ain't you'll find it hard to pay for this puppy.

I seriously think you would be better of buying a cheap v8 car of some description and keep the vitara as a play thing. you will spend less money and have a better outcome.

Sam Keck's old vit ran rova v8 and auto, so it can be done. How much work would be a different story. 253, dont even bother, unless you want a boat anchor. Though in reality, how much power do you want, and what do you want it for. It is a vitara remember, not a skyline, and unless you throw a bank load at it its not going to go or handle or STOP like a sports car ever.

I like to think, the faster you make the engine go the shorter the life of the engine.
If you want to race it like a race car, you need to maintain it like a race car. ;)

Does anyone know the power output of a 253 anyway, probably only around 150 -180kw. For the extra weight that you're adding and how that will effect the balance of the car it's not worth the dramas. You'd be better off with a Nissan 200sx engine.

138kw is nothing for a big old heavy POS engine if u put a sr20det or a ca18det you could get that plus heaps more easy and still have a light car and alot more fun to drive

if you say you are stupid and dont know much, why on earth are you even considering a engine conversion, there is much much work involved and without alot of knowledge its going to look like someone shat in your engine bay..

What have you been smoking??

I have picked up a dry lexus V8 by myself before.

I couldn't however lift the bare heavy arse cast iron block of the crummydore V6 off the floor.

lexus V8 would be a grat conversion for a zook :D

Whats wrong with a motor-bike engine and box ? fast light and power. Aussie racing cars use them, (the mini V8 super cars).
my 2 cents.

Compare the weight and usage of aussie race car to vitara. Unless he plans to halve the vits weight and drive it at 8,000rpm all day, i think this might not really provide him with his "power" rush.

There was for a brief period; a guy in the UK who was manufacturing his own engine blocks to convert 2, yes I said 2!!! Suzuki GSX-R 1000cc motorbike engines into a single 2Litre V8

That would be a sweet conversion for ANY zook. :D
