Bundy Flex

Post by -Mick- »

I'm just wondering about the potential of the coil setup on Bundy's. How much do the radius arms limit flex and how much flex can you actually get :?: Has anyone got pics of Bundy's at full travel?

Is it possible to modify/ remove the arms or replace them with a different style of link? They seem like a good bus if you could get em to flex up. :D

Flex on a bundy?........asif

Out of the factory they really do lack in the flex department!!

Whack in a set of long travel shocks (like long travel ones for an 80 series/gu) and a good set of springs and your good.
As for the coils there are many things u can do...some work well and some dont. :bad-words:

Taking off the front swaybar does help quite a lot but onroad without the swaybar it is lethal! Depends how u drive I suppose but even slow I found it quite scary!

Ask Daniel (Bundytime) and dumbdunce they should have some good shots of bundy flex both standard and modified.

I have attaced a pic of the rear flex i got with custom 6inch springs and standard 80series shocks. The shocks were way too short and limited the travel way too much. I dont run that setup anymore but longer shocks would have fixed it!

Regards
Nick

read this thread:

but pretty much out of the box bundy flex is crap, front and rear the setup is identical to the pathetic GQ/U patrol front, it's trash. you ahve to choose between control (hard bushes, sway bar, hard springs) or flex (soft, soft soft), and the body roll and lack of on-road control is pretty scary.

the rear is dying for an upper A-arm 3 link setup and I reckon it's possible to 5-link the front, maybe one day I'll do it but for now got me an 80 series to build and customers to be nice to :)

let me know if you want full size of those pics.
