Balancing Simex

I'm about to buy some 33" JT2's, though I am hearing mixed messages about balancing them. Some say you cant, some say weight patches, some say its cool. Has anybody had issues here?

Give it a go and find out for yourself, it won't hurt and doesn't cost much to try!

I've balanced Swampers and Centipedes.
Find someone with a good balancer,
Or An Aircraft tyre joint will balance big rubber with np.
A 33" JT wouldn't be too hard, might carry a bit of weight though....

Depending on the rim you will be using, I'd recommend using stick on weights, with a bit of race tape over the top, (to hold them on better) the knock on weights will come off too easy (torn off on rocks, branches, mud etc) and losing balance.
Also get a tyre paint pen and mark the position of the valve on the tyre - that way when your tyre rotates on the rim (and it will when you deflate them enough) you can realign the mark to the valve to retain the balanced position.
The beads might need a regular clean out - mud and crap will find it's way into the sealing surface (again depends how far you deflate them).
On my wagon I have run them about 10 psi (no locks), the other set on my lux 5-8 psi no problems. (34x10.5 2's on 8" steely)

How hard would a static balancer be to make for a car tire.
we used them for bikes when racin, just with an old axle for the tire to spin on.
Could use stub axle for car one?

I used EQUAL tire balancing powder on my 35 ETs. I still have a small judder from 65-75km, but nothing too scary, my castor is off, so that is an issue as well.

Some Centipedes i've done take a lot less weight than a lot of BFG's do.
With a bias ply tyre you must expect a bit of balancing trauma.

The stub axle on my off road trailer spins pretty freely so I use that to statick balance em. Don't get too fussy my 35's thump & bang somethin awfull when they are cold.
