the question is are all 105's solid front end & all 100 ifs?
as I want a desiel 100 with solid front end & I'm fed up asking salesmen weather their cruiser is ifs or not, as most dont seem to know.
thanks Lloyd

all the 4.5 petrols are solid front axel
all the 4.2 diesels (non-turbo) are solid front axel
the 4.7V8s and 4.2 Tds are IFS (ITS FINNALLY SNAPPED)

Yep...
***100 = IFS (eg. UZJ100, HDJ100)
***105 = RFS (rigid front suspension, eg. HZJ105, FZJ105)
You can usually tell by the shape & style of the wheel rim too if you have pictures and the decription is a bit shady.

On a bit of a side note... how rare are factory turbo solid front end models?... i havent seen many, and they seem to only come out very very early on.

Tthere was never a factory turbo diesel 100series with a beam axle. All tuirbo diesel 100 series are IFS.

100 series from 1998 untill 2003 are rfs and 2004 onwards are ifs except for ex-government issue ones. In 2003 they stopped making rsf models and straight six unledded and made all unledded models a V8 and have ifs. If you get a ifs model and plan on taking it off-road strenghten the ifs front end because they have had trouble with them.

The early t/d was a gxv and had IFS...most people wouldnt know there was a 105 series, they loosely call any 100 a 100...

When the GXV first came out in 1998 with the introduction of the 100 (and 105 series), it was a V8 petrol IFS, the only IFS model in the range.
In Oct. 2000 when the TD was introduced, the GXV became TD only, and still had IFS.
Toyota DO NOT make the TD or V8 versions in RFS or live axle anywhere, for any market in the world!
If you want RFS or live axles, your choices are limited to STD or GXL 1HZ diesel (both still available new), or a pre- Oct 2002 1FZ-FE 4.5 petrol.
