Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hey all.

Im new to this forum. An just have a few quetions.

1. Im looking at buying a 1984 Pajero swb Na. Its an import. It has a 2.3L turbo diesel. Has done 156,000K's an buy the looks of the photo in very good condition.

Is there anything i need to look out for when i go to look at it?
Are these good 4wd's? Eg: reliable
What go's wrong with them?

Any help would be good thanks.

the 2.3 has a reputation as a grenade, and any diesel that old from Japan will be suspect as far as regular servicing goes.

I had a swb NC with the 2.6 petrol Astron engine years ago. It was a great performer. Super reliable, great offroad, but it was a poverty pack with no fruit.

Sorry , don't know much about the diesels, but don't discount the petrol engine.
