just browsing the trade me classifieds, found this starting at $24,995!!!

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 532639.htm

also, check the amount of SWB pajeros on there also, and the prices of some of them, theres a few that are like

- sub 100k
- 3L/3.5L/2.8L td whatever you want
- diff lock
- all accessories and electrics
- adjustable suspension
EVERYTHING!!!
for like $3000 or $4000!!!

Crazy, very jealous of J TOP and NJV6 and anyone else from NZ, thinking 12 months wouldnt hurt over there, come back with 2 more shorties and an evo paj

yeh ya rekon!!?!?

i hate you guys, its not fair, we have to go searching real hard over here to find something decent and then to find a SWB is rediculous.

but as far as i understand it, the costs involved to import from NZ dont make it reasonable to think about it

- cost of car
- $500US for shipping + $100US for insurance
- 15% import duty on the price of the car
- 10% gst on top of that total
- $1500 compliance such as new seatbelts, new tyres and all the crap
- then onroads

so for a $4000 shortie, your gonna be somewhere around the $7800 figure then youve got onroads, it works out for performance cars but not really for a paj....

unless its got all the goodies i guess....your gettign reasonably close to worthwhile, but the price of pajs round here lately has dropped, theyre way cheaper to when i bought mine, seems a few more round too, maybe fuel prices???

still jealous

klrevo, don't forget the RAWS requirement for it to be an approved import...

If it wasn't for this I'd already have brought one in. There were 2 in Auckland only a few months ago for <Oz$14k !

Damn protectionist car companies can go take a flying f*@#.

A little off topic but as you were talking about SWB Pajero's I was just wondering if any body knows when the new swb will be released here.

Taken from http://editorial.carsales.com.au/car-re ... 33184.aspx

Pajero: A complete reskin due in September will spell the end of the current Pajero's heavily sculpted lines which are now looking quite dated against smooth new entries.
The proven hardware and proportions will continue but further refined. The big news is the return of a Pajero short wheelbase range as rivals have abandoned this niche. Combined sales of SWB Pajero/Nissan Patrol/Ford Maverick/Toyota LandCruiser/Holden Jackaroo were once healthy in Australia when they offered full strength heavy-duty offroad ability at soft-roader prices. Mitsubishi is looking to revive and capitalize on this market as the only major player with such an entry.
