Ok a mate has a GXL with constant 4 wheel drive .The question is can you run a detroit or a lock right to this car while only running some free wheeling hubs .I no that the diff will be getting driven and the locker will be spinning but with the hubs disengaged no drive gose to the front wheels .Or do you have to fit the kit that you can by to turn the trans case back into a part time case dose anyone no from experience.

you will need to have the centre diff locked at all times as all the drive will go to the front. The best way is to fit a part time kit. Or go air lockers.

If he has ABS fitted, you wont be able to install free wheeling hubs, unless you want the ABS to not work.

Apparently the ABS sensor works off the rotation of the CV's or something like that. Can anyone confirm this?

So how do people with abs get away with part time kits such as marks kit? I have an 80 with ABS and a marks kit I am wanting to install.

my old man leanrt that the hardway. Pulled the CV out with out taking the ABS sensor out, snapped the sensor in half. New $200, wreckers $80
