G'Day All. Have set of side by side draws and a waeco 50ltr fridge. Looking at different rear step options that could mount of the tow bar or rear bar that could help the misus who's all of 5ft get easier access to the fridge. Any ideas or directions pointers.

Cheers
Richo

just get one of those cheap plastic kitchen steps which you can just throw backin the car when not in use. At least it is portable so she can use them elsewhere too.

Yea, good call reckon thats probably the only way to go. Engineering anything else would be costly anyway. Storage of something bulky like that is probably the only real issue

we have a red step that connects into the towbar hitch reciever on our work rodeos. i think they are from hayman reese, or xl body builders.

I've seen someone who made a fridge slide with built in tilt function, so when extended, the fridge tilts down for easy access. I think they used a hinge of some type and then cable to stop the fridge from tilting too far. Looked pretty good.

yep, I did the same. The 1st pic shows the slide in the tilted position and the 2nd one shows how the spring loaded tilt mechanism locks into place at the rear.

but then ud need a step to climb up to reach the fold out step
wich would also need a step that also just so happens to need a step and so on n so forth

I can slide the fridge out, and my ex could stand on the top of the tow bar or the rear bumper.

A GU doesn't work the same?

I was searching for something completely different and stubled across this. It might be what you're looking for (or be able to engineer something similar ;) )

a tilting fridge slide is ok, but when you have things tightly packed and you want to get something out of the bottom, everything collapses into the hole you make when you pull something out, it all falls over easily.

 what a ripper, nice and simple. Will get that step and also chops's little ladder thingy and we are away. Have a 2inch lift which means we need the little ladder thingy as well. Like the tilted slide as well but would not work with my setup
All is good
