ive recently got myself a 96 coily sierra
and having never owned one before i was wondering if they way it handles is normal. it seems that any sort or bump i hit will make the car change direction very easily. there seems to be a little bit op play in the steering but again i dont know if this is normal or not.
any help appreciated

yeh, like any sierra.
Being light and short wheel base, the handling and ride is something less desireable.
I do a fair bit of wheeling, so removed the front swaybar, which gave the front end a bit more articulation, which makes a fair amount of difference offroad. The only problem being is that the shocks tend to bottom out (which will be replaced soon) and the car is a little more 'sway'y' onroad, but the ride comfort has increased.

Depending on how many K's it has done maybe some of your bushes need replacing that could be something that could improve ride... Otherwise yes its a light little car and is mostly usual to get bumped around.
