Probably buyin some spotties this arvo, cept i got no idea how to wire it up. Whats the general jist of it? is it hard or easy etc

Okay, if they don't come with a relay, you'll need to grab a relay as well. Many but not all have a relay in the pack. Using a relay is much better than wiring power through the switch, but cheaper spotties won't provide.
It's not very hard at all. The diagram below was posted by Drivesafe in another thread. There are two versions, depending on whether you have +ve switched or -ve switched headlights. I do not know whether your vehicle would have +ve or -ve switched lights.
These diagrams should probably be made a sticky:
(diagram above is for negative switched headlights)
(diagram above is for positive switched headlights)

Hi folks, that diagram shows a three position switch set up but you could easily substitute the three position switch with an illuminated switch.
Remeber to take care of which way the switch polarity goes, most illuminated switches are NOT polarized so there sould be no problems using one in either a positive or negative switched headlight set up.

Hi Folks, I have some new diagrams for both driving light wiring upgrades and headlight wiring upgrades.
The new diagrams are based around a dual relay that has the fuses built in and these new diagrams greatly simplify the the whole wiring installation.
I’ll try to have them posted during the week.

Hi folks, I now market two wiring upgrade kits, one for headlights and the the other, a combo kit for upgrading both the headlights and driving lights in one kit.
If you follow the wiring in the diagrams bellow, you won’t need a multi meter to sort out whether you have the positive or negative switched headlights.
The wiring in the diagram automatically sorts it out for you.
SPECIAL NOTE, these are generic kits and as such, if fitted to a Toyota, the headlights will work but the dash high beam indicator will not. I’m working on an add on at this time.
