Buying a Nissan

We would like to buy a 4x4 vehicle and have been told to look for a Nissan. The problem is now that we have been getting different reports on different models and we need some advise on what would be a good model to buy. Is it worth looking at the GU's compared to the GQ's. Do you encounter problems with different year of makes. Have been told to stay away from the 4.2 range and is better to go for the 2.8 range for what we want to use it for. May tow a trailer but not often. Just want a car that will fit the family in that we can also go off road and we plan to go camping, nothing too serious at this stage. With petrol prices nowadays we are leaning towards a diesel. Can some one give us some light on this matter.

Looking under $20,000. Four people to go on camping trips, may need to tow a 6x4 trailer.

No heavy bush bashing as we have the Zuk to do that in. Will also cater as my people mover around town.

If you are not after heaps of power then a 2.8 GU would be a good way to go for economy and Strength. If you look around you'll get a good wagon for the $20000. If you go to the auctions you could get a 3.0l wagon but make sure it is a 02 model onwards. It depends what you're looking for. If you want one that has heaps of accessories then you'll more than likely be looking at a GQ. Otherwise if you really look around you could get a GU for the price you want.

Fuel economy and doesn't need the power of an anchor.
