Catconverter question

Hi,

I was just flicking through a Haynes suzuki manual the other day and saw that the underside picture revealed that the sierra in the photo had a cat converter. When was the cat converter introduced to the sierra?. Does anyone think it is a good idea to put one on in conjunction with the gti engine?.... if yes, what sort would you suggest - has anyone put one on their sierra?

Thanks again

Depends a bit on model, but by 88 (widetrack) they all had cats.

86/87 sierras got around the problem because they were considered a commercial vehicle.

GTI motors all had cats in GTI's so yes, to save baby seals and hug trees (and please your engineer) you will need a cat with the GTI motor.

Nice new cats flow very well. there is no reason not to run one.
