Hi all
I'm in a 94 Sierra and i'm after some input as to what or who make good seats,
sush as Cruiser, Pajero and so on, or go a sports type of seat like SAAS........
as mine are a bit too stiff for my somewhat dodgy back
Thanks Pep

i can only coment on gen 2 pajeros or GU patrols and id have to say the pajero has the better seat for me.. its adjustable and quite comfortable, the patrol on the other hand is not adjustable and quite soft all round. im much more comfortable in the paj.
you could try car type seats if they fit i spose? the best seat i have ever had in an car ive owned would have to be my 82 honda accord. it had the most comfortable seats i have ever owned..

I dont think Commodore wil fit .... too wide.
Get some skinny ass seats from a honda, hyundai, mazda, etc.

You can get bigger seats in a sierra than you might imagine, but they will make the car harder to live with if they fill up too much of the cabin.
Swift GTI seats are a nice fit into a sierra, but I have seen older subaru, 180SX, vitara and many other seats used.
IMHO SAAS seats are poor quality, and certainly do not match "factory" quality.
Expect to pay at least $550 each for a new reclining seat of decent quality. Cobra, Recaro, Sparco and OMP all produce good quality seats.
"Monza," which is available through autobarn, produce a fixed race seat that is a fair copy of an SP-G Recaro for around $400. It looks pretty good to me.
The real cost in most aftermarket seats is the recliner mechanism, and in fact several other manufacturers buy recaro mechanisms for the recliner. If the seat has a loose or slack recliner mechanism, it makes the seat feel cheap and there is a very rear risk they will fail in a prang. This is where the cheaper auto parts store type seats lag way behind the more expensive brands. It also explains why a $400 fixed back seat can be high quality and a $400 recliner will be rubbish.
If you go with a wrecker sourced seat, make sure that the car it comes from has not been in a severe smash and that the way you mount the seats to the car is sound. I have seen tek screws through the floor and all sorts of hideous ways of bolting in seats that will not stay in place in an accident. You do not want he seats to break free in an accident or rollover.
I mounted a Sparco sprint fixed race seat in my old sierra and I bought another one when they went into my G. They will be going into my next sierra project as a priority. I don't see the point of skimping on seats. I view them as safety equipment.
PS I also run an SP-G Recaro in my road car. I am a big fan of fixed back "race" seats. I spend 3hr a day in mr road car.
Sorry for the rant
Steve.

As much as I love my statesman seats in my patrol they do take up a lot of room.
So i'd imagine commodore seats would be a very tight squeeze in a suziki.
Cheers Mick.

I got a pair off ebay for $250, I have no idea what brand they are and all they say on them is R1.
There is about 100mm between them and they touch the B piller.
