How do you read the engine numbers on a chevy diesel.
I was told that if you know what to look for you can tell the year of manufacture, capacity etc.
I want to check we are getting what we are paying for before putting it in a GQ

I heard that if you use the engine number, not the casting number, you can tell the capacity, year of manufacture etc
