Outer Limits 4x4 Board

As the title says, when buying a coil for the above mentioned engine, do they require a coil to suit cars with resistor or without resistor? (ie Bosch GT40 or GT40R)

My G13A and my previous G13B both had Bosch GT40

Resistor types are only fitted to 1.0litre Sierras as far as I know.

I know not of G16's but should be the same on carb models.
EFI or TBI could be different.'
I had a transistor coil on mine, which is wrong, but it still ran.

I assume, but don't know, that transistor type coils could be for ecu ran engines?
