Spoke to a place in Stafford today called "quick fit motor... somethings" They quoted me $3650 for a full reco fitted drive away. Which is everything, heads, bearings, crank bla bla bla, they actually do a rebore and new piston. That's a shitload cheaper than a lot of places about. Cobby's diesel's best quote was $3900 + extras. I was thinking if anyone else out there needs to get their reco. Maybe we can get a group deal. I'm sure any selfrespecting businessman will give a decent deal if they get a couple of jobs at once.

Check what parts are being used as in bearnings, pistons, gaskets and so on as there is no substitute for quality cheap ones may be fine but most likely cost you less in long run. from what i've herd JOH and also mendhams do good work mate just got his 383 chev bottom end done there and is happy with the work good quality for money.
