Kingpin Bearings?

Does anyone else have the problem of the kingpin bearings not wanting to come off the steering arm during disassembly? I have stripped and rebuilt many axles but the last 3 I have done have been a major PITA due do that bearing not sliding nicely off the shaft. I normally carry new bearings with me incase of this when I used to wheel but when it sticks the bearing gets destroyed when removing.

Does this happen to everyone, one was due to the bearing support being oversized on an aftermarket arm, the others were OEM arms.

Yeh alot. Im thinking of sanding it down a touch with some 1000 paper until the bearing slides nicely on and off. Not so that its like a press fit.

It will make CV changes in the bush much less of a head ache.

I've always sanded/filed mine down. Often when a CV breaks, the end of the spigot will get knurled and makes it difficult to remove the inner race.
