Hi has anyone else turbo'd there carby TB42, I'm just finishing mine off and I'm trying to find info on what dissy mod I need to do apart from electronic ignition conversion. I'm running straight gas blow thru with a throttle body.

I realise the Vac advance is no longer good for much.

I'm lead to believe that the Vac Adv used to provide the engine with upto 8 degrees of advance and the Mechanical Advance gives upto about 23 degrees.

How much Max advance should I be looking for under 8psi of boost? How much advance would be good for cruise?(2400rpm with no Boost) and what should I set the advance up at.

Cheers

Turbo timing curve needs to be opposite of normally aspirated.

ie. as the turbo comes on boost the timing shouldn't increase

The best idea would be to get the dizzy regraphed to suit your turbo

They will change the springs and weights in the mechanical advance

You can get a boost timing retard for distributor. It looks much like a vacuum one but the boost pushes it instead, and pulls out some timing when on boost.
