The later model have round tube bars not sure if any difference in size as the chassis should be the same distance apart. Which part of it dosnt fit/line up?

Cross members are in a totally different spot from memory. I think they had to move the crossmember for the T/C in later Rangies. It will probably stuff up the exhaust psition on the old Rangie as well.

The crossmember should be the same poisition on all RR clasics. The later round type was only fitted to the 3.9 EFI Rangies and the ZF auto (same as Discos) was fitted to Rangies back in '85 ('86 release in Oz) and the square type was on all 3.5 models.

But we are talking LR's here, it could be different

i didnt run mine for awhile but after noticing the amount of 'flex' i was getting from the chassis alone I decided to wack it back in.

I beleive the fender units may fit, and are much flatter???

Hi,

I've got a spare round one for $20 in Vic. 0438 701 588. Would be easy to make, bit of tube, 2 plates, 4 holes and a couple of welds.

Gday ratrangie i'm about to do the same thing to my 76 rangie what about the crossmember is stopping you from putting the gearbox in? I didnt think that the gearbox came anywhere near the crossmember. Just wondering if you could shed a little light o this for me so I know what to expect. Im getting a zf out of a disco, the same as yours i gather. I just dont want to have any nasty surprises.
