yes i know theres plenty of threads about it.... but not what i want... or can find...

i snaped a leaf spring last week after i found a tree stump in the dark.

so that put foward the lift i had palnned (for when i had money)

so...

what i have...

i have about $1500 to spend. i need new leaf springs, and new shocks. iv got greasable shackles on the front, so new ones arnt a must.

there is a kit on ebay for 1200ish... plus more for diffrent things
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Nissan-MQ-MK-Pat ... dZViewItem

but i dont know much about it, and havnt had the time go go to frankston to ask.

ARB said $1400 for Old Man Emu, suplied... didnt speak for the guy for long so not to sure on the spec, but he said it has 2 year/40,000k warrinty.. (does this cover hitting tree stumps?)

another place said Iron man, and that was around the $1400 mark...

the car is my daily driver, and i run 33" and a 2" body lift.
motor is a 2.8 petrol
dont have a bullbar, but it is a possibility in the future if i get a winch aswell.
i dont have a back seat, but carry a spare 33", a swag, and some light camping gear.
and dont have a rear bar.

it did have the parbolic springs on it (with 3 leavs).

im in dromana VIC... so what are my options for around hear, or other shops i could call to get a price (iv rang everyone in my phone book)

OME.

I had ironman springs and shocks on my swb, hated them. They supplied me with diesel lwb springs and the back was up in the air. ironman was having a dispute with the dealer so neither of them would fix it. I ended up getting something else and selling them to a bloke in sydney for $300, and he loved them. So I guess I would not buy them on principle.

I got pedders springs, and foam shocks, sprigs too soft compared to stock reset ones, but that is good offroad. Have pedders foam cells, not stiff enough for my hard driving on the road, but ok off road. Tried koni adjustable and they are a bit stiffer but too small. I think I'll put the Foam cells back on.

However , I remember the day when I first got my MK. The body roll was shocking. Stock shocks. I replaced one end with TJMs and one end with OME. There was a corner on warranftye road that I could not go around at the advisory speed with the stock shocks, but with the OMEs I could double the speed and plant my face into the side window. I'd get an OME kit from ARB. Screw ebay. Get them from a place that you can go back to.

Learn from my mistakes and do it right the first time, trying to save a buck here and there will only lead to dissapointment.

Regards,
g@z.

sorry... i was wrong...the ebay store is diffrent to the shop in frankston.

after speaking to them they offered me a tough dog kit, for $1830 plus $100 freight...(for them to get them from tough dog to there shop)

so now its between

tough dog not quite a 2" lift...(a bit out of my price range, but could probably strech if there decent)

the OME - for $1400, there the nitrogas / oil shocks...

or the cheap ebay ones.

the guy from the 4x4 workshop in frankston has sofar been the most helpful, and said to come in and he would talk about them all with me, and help me...

any other 4x4 shops i should try?

about to ring PGS now...

(doesnt bother me if i have to travel an hour or so to pick them up, for a better price or quality?)
