3B Diseasel in Shorty 40

Guys/Gals, having trouble with the 3B diseasel in my shorty. When going up hill, it loses power as though their is a fuel blockage. When travelling along the flat it is OK.
What is strange about this, is that when I am going up a hill and it stalls, I can start the motor (it idles perfectly) and then reverse back down, turn around, and reverse up the hill without a problem.
I have changed fuel filters, and done this with full fuel tank and MT, it doesn't change. It also dies no matter what revs your at. I've tried holding it at WOT and it still slows down and then stalls.
I need to sort this out, as I'm getting a sore neck from driving backwards all the time when offroad.
I should say, that it does it on the flat sometimes well when getting the car going, it's almost like your kangaroo hopping it off the line.
I'm not far away from fitting a 2H into it (as I have one lying around), but I don't want to change engines if this turns out to be a fuel supply problem. I just can't work out why it would do it in forward, but not reverse.

Any ideas....

Cheers

This hills are not extremely steep, about 30deg, I spose. It's not a shut off completely, it's loses power and finally stalls. You can ride the clutch and get the revs to come back up, but momentum is gone by this stage.
It also happens on flat ground when in high range if you don't give it revs and ride the clutch a little to start with. But.... alls good in reverse. :?

could it be your injector pump on its way out or already gone? is there a diaphram somewhere in there that gets old and wears out.

follow the flow of fuel and figure out which bit has to go "up hill" and then go from there..?

what about getting your injector recon'd?
